Are You Blushing?

Blusher is having a moment again. Amongst endless hacks popping up with new creative ways to apply it, this once overlooked makeup add-on is reigning again- blush is back. Just a few swipes can give you a more youthful and radiant complexion. By injecting life and colour into your skin in seconds, blusher adds that healthy flush that bronzer and highlighter simply can't mimic. This is tried and tested as even our ancestors from the Georgian period would tap a little faux ‘rouge’ onto their cheeks to indicate their wellbeing to others.

So whether it be gel, liquid, cream or the traditional powder, blusher is the playful makeup accessory that you can match to your mood. How much colour do you want to see? What shade is going to make a statement on your skin today? Therefore, here at PIBE we have rounded up five of our favourite blushers that will give you the perfect flushed-up cheeks- guaranteed.

GUCCI

Gucci Blush De Beauté in 05 Rosy Beige, £41
This is Gucci's first powder blush and the key for adding a delicate freshness to any skin tone. Served up in a timeless compact, the texture of smooth powders and pigments has been infused with emollient waxes. Meaning the blusher is long-lasting and buildable, so you can intensify it layer by layer, from a pretty fawn-toned wash to a rush of rosy colour!

Tips and Tricks:The formula is infused with shea butter and black rose oil, so the powder is super hydrating and never patchy on the skin. Always sweep a little over the bridge of your nose to look as though you have been caught by the sun.

PAT MCGRATH LABS

Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Divine Blush Duo, in Venusian Sunrise, £42
Known as the ‘Mother of Make-up’ Pat McGrath knows a thing or two about what makes a beautiful blusher. This Skin Fetish Divine Blush Duo is a silky pressed powder and perfect for those daring to try a bold colour. Purple hues help to brighten up dull skin tones, so don’t be afraid of this lilac shade. When swirled in with the punchy pink and swept across your cheeks, you will be left with a bright, space-kissed glow to your skin. Try it- trust us.

Tips and Tricks: Smiling makes your cheeks ‘pop’ naturally, so use this as a guide when applying a bold coloured blush. Also reach for a large fluffy brush that’s not as dense so it can deposit the colour softly, making for seamless blending.

GLOSSIER

Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff, £17
This really is the most user-friendly blush. The genius buildable gel-cream texture by Glossier has a soft-focus effect, meaning the colour does not gather in your pores. Instead, it sits fresh on your skin, giving you a sheer flushed-from-within glow. ‘Puff’ is a light, cool pink and is universally flattering on any skin tone. You will find this to become your favourite tool to wake up tired skin in just a few dabs.

Tips and Tricks:  Always let the warmth of your fingers slightly melt the gel-cream before applying to your skin, as this will make for easy application. Then tap the blush over your cheeks and up to your temples, for a continuous healthy wash of colour.

SENSAI

Sensai Blooming Blush in 04 Blooming Orange, £39
If you want to be a little more playful with your make-up, reach for this peachy orange blush. Especially flattering on yellow undertones, this Blooming Blush shade from Sensai will warm up your complexion instantly, adding a luminous pop of cheeky peach. While the curve of white highlighter adds a gentle glow, this silky powder also sits perfectly on top of foundation, so you can keep topping up without getting any uneven patches of colour.

Tips and Tricks: When applying this peachy shade, swish your loaded blusher brush high up onto your cheekbones to imitate where the sun would naturally hit your skin at golden hour. Giving you a permanent holiday-worthy glow.

ROSE INC

Rose Inc Blush Divine Radiant Lip and Cheek Colour in Ophelia, £23
Who doesn't love a multipurpose make-up product? This highly-pigmented lip and cheek cream by Rose Inc is the ultimate compact to help you look ‘put together’ at a moment's notice. The creamy warm-toned pink contains skin-loving squalene and vitamin E to also hydrate your complexion while also adding a pretty pop of colour.

Tips and Tricks: Use the pad of your ring finger to pat this blusher over your cheeks, eyelids and lips to add a soft pink haze to your entire makeup look.
