Summer is the season to try out new makeup trends. With balmy evenings, hot holidays to be had, and plenty of sun, it’s no surprise that we all become a little more carefree with our beauty routines during the summer months. After wearing muted hues for Winter, a much needed hit of serotonin will help to spark joy into our makeup bags as well. Here at PIBE we have lined up five trend-led makeup products that fit summer's hottest makeup looks. It’s time to be bold and daring again.

GIVENCHY

Glazed Lids

Ready for a summer of warm festivals and sparkling parties? There is no better trend than dressing up your eyes. Think high-shine reflective shimmery shades that can be dabbed, brushed or blended across your lids to create the prettiest glazed effect. The go-to summer palette of the season is the Givenchy Le 9 De Givenchy 9.09 Eyeshadow Palette, £67, offering up a perfect mixture of satin, glitter and metallic textures that are buttery yet ultra-pigmented. Use the rich rosy-tones to create a flushed ‘sunset’ eye look or simply sweep the central ‘glossy topper’ shade over the centre of your lids so that your eyes catch the light every time you blink. Trust us, this palette will be in every suitcase you pack this summer.

SUQQU

Sun-Kissed Blush

In summer blusher is your best friend. Praised as the healthy alternative to sitting out in the sun, blush can give you that sun-kissed look instead. The trick is to swirl blusher across your cheeks, over the bridge of your nose and finally up close to your temples. By simply adding colour where the sun would naturally hit your face, you can create a ‘just-left-the-beach’ effect. Your blush of choice has to be the SUQQU Pure Color Blush In 138 HYUUGAAOI, £34. Fresh from the brands ‘Sunflowers collection’ this limited-edition dual blush reflects the beautiful colours of sunflowers when in full bloom. However, don't be scared of the yellow shade. Whilst the shimmering red helps to brighten your skin tone, the yellow highlighter creates a multidimensional effect on your cheeks that lifts your face shape. Leaving you as though you have naturally been kissed by the sun without even leaving the house.

BY TERRY

Bold Liners

Want to add some summer drama to your eyes? Reach for the By Terry Crayon Blackstar Eyeliner in N.5 Terrybleu, £23. An easy switch to instantly add a cool refresh to your makeup look is to replace your regular black liner for a colourful alternative. This iconic aqua blue is Summer's hottest shade to try. Whether it be in the form of kittenish flicks, siren eyes or a grungy smudged waterline, a colourful liner can add dimension and enhance your eye colour. Seen on the famous faces of Hailey Bieber, Lizzo and Gigi Hadid, being playful with your eyeliner is easy when paired with minimal makeup and a fresh base. This By Terry crayon in particular does not smug or transfer and is enriched with Ceramide 3 to keep your delicate eye area hydrated. Meaning you can wear a blue liner flick proudly all summer long.

GUCCI

Two-Tone Lips

Two-tone lips graced the mouths of models on the SS23 runways, because why wear one colour when you can wear two? To upgrade your Summer pout, pick two standout shades to mix together. This can be contrasting pinks on your top and bottom lips, or simply an outline of rich red with a filling of a deeper toned red in the centre, the combinations are endless. The GUCCI Rouge à Lèvres Mat Lipstick in 500 Odalie Red, £37 and the GUCCI Rouge à Lèvres Mat Lipstick in 401 Three Wise Girls, £37 are the ultimate velvety matte shades to use. The whole lipstick range is long-lasting and supercharged with gelling waxes to enhance the true clarity of each colour's shade. Just be sure to swipe on one colour and wait for a second to let it partly dry before applying your second tone. This leaves you with bright pigments that don’t bleed, feather or sweat away.

HOURGLASS

Fresh Skin

Healthy skin is always in. Each summer we find ourselves on a quest to find that perfect barely there base product that we will love and use until the bottle has run dry. So, finding a product that will offer just enough coverage and luminosity while still appearing natural and fresh, is a must. The Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation, £56 does the trick perfectly. This weightless tinted liquid is infused with clever blurring spheres that provide a light-diffusing effect to smooth and even out your complexion. While added White Tea Extract and Vitamin E also keep your skin well-nourished and hydrated. So before stepping out for dinner on a balmy Summer's night, lightly tap this foundation over any areas you want to colour correct and buff in effortlessly, letting your Summer skin still shine through.
